01 · Who

So what connects all of it?
One habit, since I was sixteen.

I’m David Uhumagho, a developer in Lagos studying computer science at the National Open University of Nigeria. The first software I shipped that mattered replaced the paper notebook my mum ran her shop on. She used it. Then two more shop owners saw it and asked for it. That loop, one real user with one real problem, is how I have built everything since.

At sixteen I couldn’t study without drowning in scattered PDFs and distractions, so I built Benkyoo to fix my own studying. Today teachers and students use it, in secondary school and higher institutions. Same habit every time: feel the problem myself, ship the working version, iterate in front of the people using it.

Right now the deep work is on Nervos CKB. CKB Quest gets new developers onto the cell model with verifiable, wallet-connected progress, because the jump from Ethereum-style contracts loses people fast. I write software for the people software usually ignores: shop owners, students, teachers with sixty kids and no devices in the room.

The web assumes you can see a screen, and money assumes it most of all: the SMS one-time code that ends every transaction is not friction for a blind user, it is a wall. Nigeria has a million blind adults and blindness here tracks poverty, so the people locked out of digital work are exactly the people who need it most. Aide is voice-native end to end. You open it and talk: find work, do it, get paid. No screen required at any step.

Paper books, missing records, no idea what was selling. I built the first version for one real user, my mum, and iterated every time she hit a wall. Two more shop owners saw it working and asked for it. I own the frontend, backend, deployment, pricing conversations and the in-person demos. Shipped as a PWA/TWA because my users run cheap Android phones.

Best Education Project · YPIT

Koya

Finds the gap under a class of sixty before the exam does.

One teacher, sixty students, chalk and paper. Koya generates five board questions that probe the prerequisites a topic secretly depends on, reads photographed student working with a vision model, grades against a verified key, then names the single upstream gap that explains the most failures and hands the teacher tomorrow's fix. Grounded in the real NERDC scheme of work. The diagnosis is impossible by hand at that scale; that is the product.

I couldn't study without drowning in PDFs. So I fixed it at 16.

My study materials were scattered PDFs and my attention went with them. Benkyoo organises them into one place built for focus, so studying stops being a fight against your own files. I was my first user. Today teachers and students work with it in secondary school and higher institutions. The first proof that my loop works: feel the problem yourself, ship, iterate with the people using it.
